The Wesley Girls High School Old Girl’s Association 1995-year group has donated a Paediatric Haemodialysis machine to the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) of the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital.
As part of the celebration of their silver jubilee of the 1995-year group, they identified the needs of children suffering from kidney failure as they had no Paediatric Haemodialysis machine for them. The President of the 1995-year group, Mrs Akua Owusua Donnir presented the Paediatric Haemodialysis machine to the hospital. The equipment which costs about GHC96,000 is to give hope and help the management of children with renal diseases in Ghana.
Dr. Opoku Ware Ampomah, CEO of Korle Bu Teaching Hospital expressed his appreciation to the group and assured them that the equipment will be put to good use to help patients who need them. He also tasked the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit to ensure that the necessary maintenance is regularly carried out on the machine.
